Instinctive training

Ever wonder why when you’re all set up to bust another great workout/get that new pb bench press or do those 100 Burpees but when you hit that workout hard you just haven’t got it?

EVEN THOUGH YOUR PROGRAMMING OR COACH SAYS IT’S WHAT YOU SHOULD BE FIT FOR???

One of the biggest turning points for me was learning to listen to my body.

Training instinctively is one of the most important aspects of working out. Why? Because the risk of injury always outweighs the benefit.

If your shoulders and elbows feel like crap stop the heavy pressing for a couple of weeks, if your squat isn’t happening or your knees are shot try some form and technical work or do some hamstrings! If your recovery is pants do some low intensity cardio!

Your body is the most finely tuned machine on the planet, listen to it!

If it’s snowing and icy outside you drive slower to suit the conditions, you must treat your body with the same respect. Rest and recovery are imperative to progress, don’t get frustrated with the numbers, adapt, diversify, be smart…train instinctively!

You will reap the rewards much quicker
