Getting the right coach is SERIOUS business!
You're putting your body in the hands of someone else, you trust their expertise to give you the results envisage and you’re paying for it. Here's a few quick ways to know if everything's legit.
- Your coach should do a thorough consult with you including measurements range of Motion and ability. Your body is in their hands – They should know EVERYTHING about you! I regularly check in on my clients and test their performance to make sure they are making progress with their diet, fitness and strength,
- Your coach should keep in regular contact and make sure you are adhering to the structure they have set out. Letting YOU get away with procrastination ISN'T acceptable. I set metrics with my clients like activity level, sleep and mood scores to gauge their adherence, it’s much quicker to spot a problem this way and resolve it.
- Your coach should not push you beyond your level of capability. If it’s TOO hard STOP! I will constantly ask my clients if they are feeling the correct muscles working, how hard they feel they are working and if they are in any discomfort. Safety is key! You can’t progress if you’re injured!!
If your Trainer isn’t doing these you need to stop and ask them why. Too many trainers are more interested in themselves than getting you the results you envisage. – PULL THEM!
