Going out for dinner? Here’s a few top tips to help you keep it clean...ish.
- Check that menu in advance, make sure there are literally 2 or three solid things to choose from that are healthy, if its all burgers and chips you’re gonna have a hard time, think lean meat.
- Side dishes should be Steamed vegetables where possible, they are way better than ones covered in oil and served in butter, full of fiber, retain their nutrients better and will fill you up. REQUEST IT.
- Stick to 2 Courses only, either have that starter or dessert, that 300-400 calories you are saving yourself simply cutting one out!
- If it’s casual dinner sit over your wine, converse more and you won’t be inclined to neck a bottle unnecessarily, the alcohol in wine will get processed by your body first instead of carbs for energy so be cautious you don’t over do it with booze while eating.
- Keep protein the focus of your dish! Remember it takes 30% more energy to digest protein! This is always a great rule of thumb to have regardless of the circumstance! Digest your food wisely!
- Fish generally is smaller in portion, higher in protein and healthy fats than most other dishes… Makes sense to have it included in your meals, especially if it’s cooked well, it may inspire you to cook more at home.
Enjoy yourself when your out, especially if you don’t get out often. Actually go nuts if you don’t get out often!
But remember to be sensible, you will appreciate it more at your next weigh in!
